The idea of commissioning a piece of jewellery can seem daunting to many people, but we aim to make the process as painless as possible. In fact, we want you to enjoy having your bespoke piece made, and we want you to be involved every step of the way.
It's important to spend time understanding your requirements for the proposed piece, including any existing sources of inspiration, colour ideas and early sketches; and generating our own drawings on paper to begin to work out shape and form. If you have your own sketches or pictures of other pieces you like that can be helpful, but if you would like to chat through your ideas or discuss what is possible, that's also fine.
The initial consultation lasts around 30 minutes - and we can do that at a place of your choosing, or if you are a little further afield, then we can use Skype and send sketches and pictures by email. As a result of the initial consultation we will be also able to give an indication of cost and timescales.
Where we are sourcing stones for you, we will arrange a further meeting to discuss and refine your choices, consulting with you before any stones are set. We will always be guided by your preferences and prices - we aim to ensure there are no surprises around costs.
We will refine designs according to your feedback and, if appropriate, model the design in silver or wax for you to view. Once you are happy with your design, we will handcraft the finished item in the precious metal of your choice, in the case of rings confirming sizings with a fitting before finalisation.
The process usually takes 4-6 weeks from the initial consultation, depending on availability for stage sign-offs and requirements for stone sourcing, and we will always be very clear about delivery timescales. If the piece is for a special occasion we will do our best to meet that, if you let us know at the initial consultation.
Your piece will be packaged ready for collection or delivery and you will receive a completely unique and beautiful piece of hand-crafted jewellery, as exquisite as it is personal, as comfortable as it is captivating and demanding to be worn, enjoyed and admired.
